The SPC College of Natural Sciences and Engineering will build a greater understanding of the sciences, engineering, building arts, and manufacturing in an authentic manner. These efforts will enhance our learning community, partnerships and contribute to global awareness. We will strive to inspire our students to become responsible leaders and citizens. We will make a difference in peoples’ lives by giving them tools to acquire knowledge and navigate multidisciplinary information. In doing so, we will instill intellectual rigor and ethical academic standards in our students.

Dr. Sidney Martin

Program Director

St. Petersburg College


Dr. Martin holds BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.  He holds a Doctorate in Education from Murray State University, focusing on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). He is a licensed professional engineer (Manufacturing), a project management professional, a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, and a Scrum Master.  Dr. Martin enjoys teaching electrical and electronic courses. He is an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering. Dr. Martin researches advanced power electronics for the electrified vehicles.

Sara Sabourin

Business Relationship Manager

St. Petersburg College


Sara Sabourin is a Business Relationship Manager at St. Petersburg College with a focus on the Business & Finance Industry.  In her role, she connects with clients to ensure SPC provides services to meet their business needs.  Sara assists employers with developing their talent pipeline by connecting with highly skilled students and graduates for internship, apprenticeship, and career opportunities, as well as helping upskill their current workforce.  You can connect with Sara at Sabourin.Sara@SPCollege.edu.
